Our story - how it all started?

This view of La Campana (1880 m) is the main reason for our decision to move to Chile. A not all unfamiliar place for me being born Chilean, but somewhat exotic for the rest of my Swedish born family. 

La Campana being one of 42 national parks, is a very appealing destination for stressed Santiago citizens, offering trekking and biking trails, untouched indigenous flora and fauna, the majority being endemic to Chile (such as the chilean palm tree Jubaea chilensis) due to it’s remote location in the world. 

The rural surroundnings are known for being the flower central of Chile, providing almost 80% of the chilean market, but also for their horses and popular rodeos such as the Medialuna de Rabuco. 

So all this amazing nature and of course the dry warm climate, equally warm and welcoming  locals, fresh food in quaint little family owned restaurants and you have a recepie difficult to resist. 

Temporary accommodation

Having sold our 80 sqm condo, this 20 sqm room complete with a small hallway, bathroom and (sort of) kitchen is our temporary accommodation until our departure. Suprisingly enough we have discovered that you can manage with less of everything if you set your mind to it and have something great to look forward to. 

3 pallets 

Our old life watered down to 3 pallets, mostly clothes, books and some small furniture. We have unsuccessfully tried to get hold of an custom agent to help us navigate the red tape at arrival in Valparaiso, so it remains to see how we will manage without any.
